CAU Now, Lifting Every Voice - Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurial Development

Tune in Saturday, March 25 at 7:00 a.m. for a special edition of CAU Now-Lifting Every Voice.  This edition of CAU Now will focus on the Clark Atlanta University Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurial Development.

Bruce Berger joins us to share information about the Center including their upcoming Hack-a-thon. The Hack-a-thon provides students with a hands on opportunity to solve problems using technology and innovative ideas.

The Center houses several 3D printers including a new metal 3D printer, Dr. Berger explains that students also get to interact with the five drones that are part of the Center's inventory.

In addition, Berger provides information about the U. S. Department of Commerce which awarded the Center a  grant at the end of 2016.  The Center works with students throughout the Atlanta University Center at various stages of their business pursuit.

We also speak with Jimelle Levon a freshman at Clark Atlanta University.  Jimelle explains that he has been sewing since he was 14 years old. A prom dress that he made for his date went viral on Youtube and he knew what he wanted to do, become a fashion designer.  After meeting other fashion students at Clark Atlanta University it was suggested that he check out the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurial Development.  Jimelle explains that since joining the Center he has increased his "margins" and is making different choices about inventory purchases.

Jimelle says he was on his way, but with input from the Center for Innovation he has elevated his chance for business success.
