Philadelphia's Josh Lawrence is one of Jazz music's pre-eminent young composers, leading the Fresh Cut Orchestra and gigging in smaller combos at Jazz clubs throughout the world. On his new release Color Theory (on Posi-Tone Records), he plays with a smaller combo that includes: Keyboardist Adam Faulk; Pianist Orrin Evans; Alto Saxophonist Caleb Curtis; and, Lawrence on trumpet. The songs are original compositions by Lawrence and reflect the moods of various colors while expressing the finest in Straight-Ahead modern Jazz.
