CAU School of Education Celebrates American Education Week

The week of November 14 - 18 is American Education week. Saturday on The Local Take on WCLK I spoke with Dr. Moses Norman, Dean of the Clark Atlanta University School of Education about this event.

Dr. Norman provides the history of American Education Week founded by the National Education Association.  The theme for this year's celebration is Great Public Schools: A Basic Right and Our Responsibility we discuss what is needed to make this theme a reality for children in our community.

We speak about the lack of diverse teachers as our country's student population becomes even more diverse.  Dr. Norman invited the community to participate in American Education Week with the School of Education.

Dr. Norman shares with us the layered approach the CAU School of Education brings to educating our future teachers. He discusses the ongoing partnership with Booker T. Washington High School to expose high school students to careers in education and help to recruit our future teachers.
