Ailey II: The Next Generation of Dance returns to the Rialto Center 10/26 (VIDEO + AUDIO)

Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre
Ailey II

Ailey II returns to the Rialto Center for the Arts at Georgia State for the third season on Saturday October 26.

The evening's performance features South African-born Bradley Shelver’s high-energy "Where There Are Tongues" and world premieres! The program also includes two new works by esteemed choreographer Andrea Miller and former Ailey dancer Kirven Douthit-Boyd.

Plan to come early and stay after the show! The moderated pre-show talk with Troy Powell begins at 7:00 p.m. and the on-stage post-show panel discussion begins immediately following the performance and is hosted by UPFRONT's Ray Cornelius.

For 45 years, Ailey II has merged the spirit and energy of the country’s best young dance talent with the passion and vision of today’s most outstanding emerging choreographers. Anyone who sees an Ailey II performance leaves understanding why The New York Times declares, “there’s nothing like an evening spent with Ailey II.” Ailey II embodies the dazzling alchemy of combining the country’s best young dance talent with the creative vision of top emerging choreographers. Artistic Director Troy Powell continues Alvin Ailey’s legacy imbuing fresh dimension, guiding Ailey II’s signature pristine performances built on dynamic movement and brilliant technique!
