Programming on Atlanta's Jazz Station 91.9 WCLK is made possible in part by Closing The Gap In Health Care, which features informative, useful health vignettes from Dr. Thaddeus John Bell, which are heard throughout the day. Topics include how we deal with our own healthcare as well as important information about diabetes, cancer, blood pressure and other issues. The mission of Closing The Gap In Health Care is to decrease health disparities and increase the health literacy of African Americans and the underserved communities throughout the South. The organization accomplishes this by providing health education programs that promote wellness and healthy lifestyles and hopes to increase the number of African-American health providers in the South.
