Dave Koz feat Dave Sanborn: Side By Side

When I got the call about Dave Koz's new full length New Day(Just Koz Entertainment) I was eager to hear it. When I learned his first single would be Side By Side featuring David Sanborn, I knew the listeners were in for a treat.  Personally, I wanted to hear it, having worked with both of them as a label executive at Capitol and

Warner Brothers Records. Well I wasn’t disappointed and you won't be, either. Koz and his idol David Sanborn deliver a one- two punch on Side By Side. It’s an infectious medium to uptempo track giving both of the modern day masters space to stretch out on their respective instruments.  Koz once told me Sanborn was his idol so, I can only imagine the feeling he had while recording him.  Side By Side is one of those songs you’ll play for years to come and of course you can hear it on Jazz 91.9 WCLK.

David C. Linton is Jazz 91.9 WCLK Program Director and host of Serenade To The City, heard Monday-Friday at 10pm.
