Saturday morning at 8am on WCLK's The Local Take, I'm talked with Atlanta Black Theatre Festival founder Toni Simmons Hensons to talk about this year's 40 Plays in 4 days event is taking place October 2 - 5, 2019 at the Porter Sanford Performing Arts and Community Center.
Toni shares how she came to launch this festival due to the words of GOD and the Trayvon Martin verdict. The Atlanta Black Theatre Festival named by TopTenZilla as one of the best theatre festivals in the world brings theatre lovers to Atlanta to experience full productions such at The Green Book, Crowns, and Soul Town along with stage readings, educational activities and so much fun.
The Local Take with host the annual Town Hall Breakfast on October 3rd at 9am. Our guest will speak to the giants we lost this year Ntozoke Shange and Toni Morrison with a focus on Black Women creatives.
