Saturday morning on WCLK's The Local Take (Saturdays 8am) we continued our celebration of The Year of Return by sharing conversations with metropolitan Atlanta residents who participated with the Jamestown2Jamestown commemoration that took place in August 2019 in Jamestown, Virginia and Jamestown, Ghana.
This is our final conversation in this series and I speak with Karla Gaston a graduate of Douglass High School and Clark Atlanta University. I spoke with Karla Gaston one month after our return from Ghana. We speak about the commemoration in Jamestown, Virginia. She shares that this wasn't her first trip to Africa. Instead of the business summit she participated in several tours.
The Year of Return generated 1.9 Billion with over 1 million visitors, Ghana is now considered one of the next big tourist destinations.
