Saturday morning at 8am on WCLK's The Local Take I talked with Jaia Thomas from Diverse Representation, the first directory for African American professionals in the entertainment industry.
Ms. Thomas speaks about the programming that they are presenting starting with students on the Morehouse College campus on November 14th. There will be a panel discussion featuring a diverse group professionals from agents to communications directors. Afterwards, students will be invited to network at a reception. This event has been designed to educate the youth in our community about the abundance of professional careers that are adjacent to the entertainment industry.
Diverse Representation has been created to increase the number of African Americans as agents, attorneys, managers and publicist in the sports and entertainment industry. They are creating the first directory that list all African-American professional in the industry.
On November 15th Diverse Representation is inviting a Atlanta creatives to a luncheon to meet with other like-minded individuals This will be an opportunity learn and network with professionals about working in the industry that will grow along with the burgeoning entertainment industry in Atlanta.
