This week on The Local Take I speak with Wendy Ely Jackson and Maynard Jackson III about Auburn Avenue Films and the launch of their documentary MAYNARD. Maynard Jackson III explains that he woke up one day and thought about the story of his father. Noting his wife had over 25 years experience in the film industry, he realized that the story would be told via film.
Wendy Jackson explains the serendipitous way that Sam Pollard, Malcolm Lee and other notables came to work on the documentary. She also speaks to the future with other films in their pipeline including a documentary from the book "Where Peachtree Meets Sweet Auburn."
Auburn Avenue Films is a film and television production company that plans to tell our stories from their unique perspective. The MAYNARD documentary is playing at the PLAZA Theatre please check their website for show times.
