Mark Mixx is back with his Street Jazz Cartel, and well the name of the group alone evokes images of something from the roaring 20’s or your favorite gangster movie. Morning Rize is the featured cut off of his release Cartel Drive(Isis Style Music) is gangster with its funky grooving Jazz texture. Mark, a Detroit native demonstrates he took advantage of growing up in the shadows of Motown, the home of the Funk Brothers, the renowned band that backed many of the Motown greats.
