Washington, DC-based trumpet player Alex Parchment has come a long way in a short amount of time. He records as part of a traditional group in the Alex Parchman Quintet, is part of an experimental soul-funk-hip hop-Jazz group called AP Chemistry, and has worked as a side-man with artists including Christian McBride, David Sanborn, Chick Corea and others. His new record out on Next Paradigm Music is called It's Real. You can hear his horn leading a great contemporary Jazz mix with this song on Atlanta's Jazz Station 91.9 WCLK.
