October 12: Cyrus Chestnut Trio at Spivey Hall (VIDEO)

Spivey Hall at Clayton State Universityis kicking off its new jazz season with the one and only Cyrus Chestnut Trio. It takes place on Friday, October 12 at 7:30 p.m. and features Chestnut along with Nimrod Speaks on bass and Chris Beck on drums.

The show will feature new music from his forthcoming album Kaleidoscope

"When Cyrus Chestnut plays, it's often difficult to tell which genre he's in, which is a good thing. Blending contemporary jazz, traditional jazz and gospel, plus the occasional seasonings of Latin and samba, he gives himself plenty of freedom to explore different emotions, while keeping the music in recognizable form," says All About Jazz.
