Political Dialogue with Dr. William Boone and Historian Hermina Glass Hill On The Local Take

Bernie Sanders

Saturday morning, April 2 at 7:00 on The Local Take on Jazz 91.9 WCLK, I'll feature a discussion with Clark Atlanta University Political Science Professor Dr. William Boone and Historian Hermina Glass-Hill.

We focus on the political events leading up to this Summer's Republican and Democratic National Conventions in Cleveland, OH and Philadelphia, PA.  In March, a contingent of Republican strategists led by Karl Rove met in Sea Island, Georgia to commiserate and devise a plan to stop the nomination of Donald Trump, but it may have been too late.  Dr. Boone explains the difference between a contested and brokered convention.  Hermina Glass Hill provides a historical perspective.

The Democratic presidential primary season seems to be pitting Millennials who support Bernie Sanders against their parents and grandparents - Boomers - who support Hillary Clinton. We discuss it.

In Georgia issues, we discuss:  Governor Deal's veto of House Bill 757; The Religious Freedom and Restoration Act; and, the possibility of Governor Deal also vetoing the Campus Carry Bill.

We also touch on the controversy over Confederate memorials throughout the South, and look at the final year of the Obama Administration and the legacy of Barack Obama.

We would love to hear from you, let us know your opinion via email at KiplynPrimus@gmail.com or leave a message on the Jazz 91.9 WCLK Public Affairs hotline at (404) 880-6211.
