Lifetime presents a new https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WfNQ25ih8EY">biopic about the first ladies of hip hop---Salt N' Pepa---airing TONIGHT at 8 p.m. The film chronicles their rise to international acclaim and becoming the first female rap act to achieve gold and platinum status. They are also the first female rap act to recieve a Grammy Award and are the recipients of this year's Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. I caught up with the ladies this week to chat about the new film, their iconic music and much more. 

TV One's popular true-crime series https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PJ_WlYt6JFw">ATL Homicide is back for third season. The one-hour series features real-life interviews with former Atlanta homicide detectives David Quinn and Vince Velazquez and is paired with dramatic recreations of their most memorable cases. During our two-part conversation, we address the controversial topic of "defunding the police" as well as the Rayshard Brook case and their very own experience of racial profiling while filming this new season.  

UPFRONT is presented by Jazz 91.9 WCLK and is produced and hosted by Ray Cornelius. It is recorded each week from the campus of Clark Atlanta University. 

Ray Cornelius is one of Atlanta’s newest entertainment writers and media personalities. His arts and entertainment website, www.raycornelius.com spotlights the latest in “positive” African-American celebrity news and was established in 2012. Since that time Cornelius has covered a myriad of red carpet premieres, award shows and Atlanta-based films including Tyler Perry’s Temptation, The BronzeLens Film Festival, The Trumpet Awards, and The Steve Harvey’s Neighborhood Awards just to name a few. He has also interviewed a who’s who list of today’s top singers, actors and reality stars. With nearly 20 years of media experience, Cornelius has also worked as an associate producer for the Emmy-winning public affairs program, ATL Insider and with such award shows as The Soul Train Awards, The Trumpet Awards and BET Hip-Hop Awards.
