Ray Cornelius with Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse star Shameik Moore

Check out this weekend's edition of UPFRONT Inside Atlanta's Entertainment Industry.  I got an opportunity to chat with Atanta native and triple threat performer Shamiek Moore, star of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. He is making history as the first African-American-Latino Spider-Man. He also opens up about the power of words and manifesting your future.

Athlete turned actor Jay Ellis was in Atlanta earlier this week promoting his new thriller---Escape Room. We discuss his role in the film and shooting on location in Cape Town, South Africa. He also opens up about which one of his Insecure castmates would survive an escape room and his desire to portray this iconic sports figure in a biopic.

My last guest is award-winning radio personality, author and photographer Meredith Ochs. She has just released her newest book, ARETHA: The Queen of Soul - A Life in Photographs. It features over 85 photos of Franklin throughout her career with an insightful story penned by Ochs. We also discuss Franklin's legacy and the moment Ochs she stood face-to-face with her idol.

UPFRONT is a 30-minute arts and entertainment show featuring one-on-one interviews with some of the biggest names in TV, film, music, fashion, theater and more. It is hosted by yours truly Ray Cornelius.

Ray Cornelius is one of Atlanta’s newest entertainment writers and media personalities. His arts and entertainment website, www.raycornelius.com spotlights the latest in “positive” African-American celebrity news and was established in 2012. Since that time Cornelius has covered a myriad of red carpet premieres, award shows and Atlanta-based films including Tyler Perry’s Temptation, The BronzeLens Film Festival, The Trumpet Awards, and The Steve Harvey’s Neighborhood Awards just to name a few. He has also interviewed a who’s who list of today’s top singers, actors and reality stars. With nearly 20 years of media experience, Cornelius has also worked as an associate producer for the Emmy-winning public affairs program, ATL Insider and with such award shows as The Soul Train Awards, The Trumpet Awards and BET Hip-Hop Awards.
