UPFRONT featuring Jingle Jangle's David E. Talbert, 'Ma Rainey's Black Bottom' and more

Check out this week's edition of UPFRONT Inside the Entertainment Industry. It features David E. Talbert, director of Jingle Jangle, Executive Producers of HBO presents Between the World and Me - Kamilah Forbes and Susan Kelechi Watson and the leading men of Ma Rainey's Black Bottom - Glynn Turman, Michael Potts and Colman Domingo.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pFnoaB6Q158">Jingle Jangle is David E. Talbert's newest holiday film. The Netflix musical is set in the vibrant town of Cobbleton and follows legendary toymaker Jeronicus Jangle whose fanciful inventions burst with whimsy and wonder. But when his trusted apprentice steals his most prized creation, it’s up to his equally bright granddaughter and a long forgotten invention to heal old wounds and reawaken the magic within. I caught up with Talbert this week to chat about the film's star Madalen Mills, working with John Legend and his hope for the holiday season.

Tonight is the premiere of https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pFnoaB6Q158">HBO presents Between the World and Me. The Ta-Nehisi Coates book comes to life through the voices of Hollywood's biggest stars including Oprah Winfrey, Angela Bassett, Courtney B. Vance, Joe Morton, Jharrel Jerome, Ledisi, T.I., Janet Mock, Mj Rodriguez, Angela Davis and Yara Shahidi. I caught up with the film's executive producers Kamilah Forbes and Susan Kelechi Watson to chat about bringing this timely message of hope and resilience to the masses. The conversation was part of an AAFCA Roundtable Discussion. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fSsu_2N0blg">Click here to watch the entire conversation.

Closing out the show is my exclusive with the leading men of Ma Rainey's Black Bottom - Glynn Turman, Michael Potts and Colman Domingo. The story is an adaptation of Pulitzer Prize winning playwright August Wilson's 1980s Broadway musical and features Oscar-winning actress Viola Davis as the "Mother of the Blues." Check out the interview below where the men talk about their characters and an unforgettable moment on set with their late co-star, Chadwick Boseman.
