Dr. Shenita Treniece Connally, founder of Life with Shenita, LLC, an organization that advocates for widows and widowers, ensures clients are spiritually and physically hydrated. She hosts an annual Elegant Evening of Jazz at Spivey Hall on the Clayton State University campus. This year’s concert takes place October 4th at 5PM. Dr. Connally has created communities around her passions. This year, the Elegant Evening of Jazz will feature WCLK’s own Ragan Whitside in concert.

After experiencing the loss of her husband, Connally realized many people were having this experience without assistance or resources. Everything she learned, she shared. She mentions that there are even fewer resources for men who lose a spouse. Her book Abiding Love provides a guide for those dealing with loss. Her husband enjoyed jazz, and Connally launched an annual fundraising concert at Spivey Hall to help fund her work.

Connally shares a message to “HYDRATE” as a physical and spiritual need she shares with everyone. She advocates, informs, and provides a safe place for people confronting a profound loss.
