CAREGIVERS Relax is Back! The Family Nest, owned by Iris Brassfield, is a solution for families going through senior care dynamics. If you don’t know, as seniors age, they lose their independence in stages. The Family Nest is a resource to assist families as they navigate living, surviving, and thriving in this new age. After going through CAREGIVING with her family, Sonia Booker created the Legacy Senior Network.

Brassfield speaks about families needing help with downsizing and making sure they get the best value for their homes in case they want to move to Florida or relocate to a senior living community. She emphasizes that we have to imagine what our new life looks like. Seniors have assets that they have accrued over a lifetime and in order to live their new normal some things may need to be sold. Brassfield emphasizes that families should have conversations early about how they expect to live in retirement.

As the baby boomer generation retires, this will result in the largest wealth transfer from one generation to the next. The Family Nest is set up to protect wealth.
