Dr. William Boone

On the December 9 edition of The Local Take, I spoke with  with Clark Atlanta University Political Science Professor Dr. William Boone about the Atlanta Mayoral runoff that happened last week.   Keisha Lance Bottoms won the vote over her opponent Mary Norwood by fewer than 800 votes.   Although there has been a call for a recount, Dr. Boone expects the mayor-elect to be installed as Mayor of Atlanta.   I asked Dr. Boone about the schism with Atlanta's old guard and new.  We also discussed Atlanta's changing demographics and the future of African American leadership in the city.

On October 22, The Local Take spoke with a few experts regarding the four Georgia State Constitutional Amendments we will be voting on in the November 8 election.

Ms. Verdaillia Turner, president of the Georgia Federation of Teachers talked about Amendment 1 about Opportunity School Districts.

On the Saturday, July 2 edition of The Local Take we  continue our political discussion with Dr. William Boone, Clark Atlanta University Political Science Professor.  We were also joined by Attorney Eunice Cho with the Southern Poverty Law Center.
