Fair Fight Georgia

This is the last Saturday before the January 5th Georgia Senate Run-off elections. I reached out to Maynard Eaton, an Emmy award-winning local journalist, a journalism professor, and the current National Director of Communications for the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) to speak about what voting in a run-off election means.

Eaton shares that his family has relocated to Indianapolis, where his wife picked up work during the Pandemic. Like most of us, he's zooming, working remotely, and being careful of COVID-19.

This week on WCLK's The Local Take(Saturdays 8am), I'm talking all things voting with Mo Ivory, Creative Council at Fair Fight Action. We have one party in our country doing everything they can to suppress the vote. While citizens are doing everything they can to vote safely in the Pandemic. Fair Fight Action was born out of the tightly contested 2018 Georgia governor's race between Now-Governor Brian Kemp and Stacy Abrams. From that adversity, Fair Fight Action was created to support free and fair elections across the country.

This week on The Local Take we're talking voting in 2020. I reached out to Helen Butler, Executive Director of The People's Agenda, an organization started by the late Rev. Dr. Joseph Lowery.

Saturday morning at 8am on The Local Take on WCLK I speak with Fair Fight Georgia's CEO Lauren Groh-Wargo.  Fair Fight Georgia is an organization that started after our last contentious Gubernatorial Election between Governor-elect Brian Kemp and Abrams.
