Jazz 91.9 WCLK

Programming on Jazz 91.9 WCLK is made possible in part by support from Morris Baxter and Revel Midtown, presenting the 6th Annual Morris In The Morning Birthday Bash on Friday, February 21 at Revel Midtown, located at 1778 Ellsworth Industrial Boulevard in West Midtown Atlanta. The event will feature Jeff Bradshaw and Ragan Whiteside along with suprise special guests. Dinner will be available. Doors open at 6:30pm with showtime at 7:30pm.

Atlanta's Jazz Station 91.9 WCLK has also always played Gospel music, too. Listen to Joy In The Morning with Rodney Evans Monday-Fridays 4am-6am and Sundays from 6am until 11am.  On April 15 we are bringing the multiple Grammy Award-winning Gospel greats The Clark Sisters to Atlanta Symphony Hall for one night only in a special WCLK 46th Anniversary Benefit Performance. The Clark Sisters will delight and move you with all of their hits including "Halleleujah", "Living", and "You Brought The Sunshine".

The Local Take talks with House Representative Camia Hopson from Albany, Georgia, about this year's legislative session and the Georgia Black Caucus Heritage Dinner. The dinner is taking place on February 27th at the Georgia World Congress Center. Representative Hopson also mentions that the caucus awards unsung heroes doing work in the community at the annual dinner.

This week on The Local Take I speak with Jay Bailey, President and CEO of the new Russell Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (RCIE). Mr. Bailey shares some of H. J. Russell's history, from integrating the Commerce Club to underwriting the Atlanta Civil Rights movement.

Thanks to everyone who made our WCLK Benefit Performance featuring Gregory Porter and Ledisi a sellout show. We look forward to seeing you Thursday night at 7:30pm at Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre, and we’d like to thank our sponsors, including Family Health Centers of Georgia, AARP Georgia, Richard A. Dent, and Publix.
