Jun 26, 2020

Recently I spoke with author, lawyer, CNN Pundit and Morehouse Man Barkari Sellers. Saturday morning at 8am on WCLK's The Local Take we'll feature our conversation.  Sellers' new book My Vanishing Country is on sale now. This memoir tracks his life from the dirt roads of Denmark, SC to the South Carolina State house and the studios of CNN.

Saturday morning at 8am on WCLK's The Local Take I speak with Dr. Lisa Herring, who will take the helm of Atlanta Public Schools as Superintendent on July 1st.  She is a graduate of Spelman College who grew up in Macon and has worked in DeKalb County Schools.  Herring says that her new position is like "coming home."

Caught In A Groove is the debut single from Nils and the title track from his new full length release on Baja/TSR Records.  It’s a funky number that features Nils literally caught in a groove as depicted in the video. It’s Jazz, Blues and just the kind of song you can’t get enough of.

This week on WCLK's The Local Take(Saturdays 8am) I speak with Jacqueline Thornton, Director of Population Health at National Church Residences.  This organization provides affordable senior housing at 9 locations in metro Atlanta.  They work throughout the country and have been in existence for over 50 years.

This week on WCLK's The Local Take(Saturdays 8am) I talked to Fulton County Commissioner Joe Carn about the county's response to the COVID19 Pandemic. Commissioner Carn speaks about the county's rapid response to aid and fund organizations in the community to support citizens with everything from food insecurity to emergency assistance with rent and utilities.
