Kiplyn Primus

Coming up Saturday morning at seven thirty on The Local Take we’ll talk with Pulitzer Prize-winning Journalist and Author Isabel Wilkerson.  Wilkerson’s 2010 book The Warmth of Other Suns, tells a compelling story of the African American 20th century diaspora.

The Africa Heritage Foundation is presenting the Africa Diaspora Conference, lecture and celebration in Atlanta September twelfth through fifteenth.  Events include a Taste of Africa, a celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Organization of African States, and the Africa Horizon Celebration and Award Gala event.

You will be hearing more about these events on WCLK over the next few weeks, including a WCLK Profiles interview with Ambassador Tunde Adetunji next week.

The look of Mom’s have changed over the years, but today’s moms come equipped with technology, apps, online videos, and more!  So do moms with Google have more to offer than analog Moms?  Have Moms really changed or do they just have access to more information?

Kiplyn Primus is joined on The Local Take with Karen Adams, Joyce Davis, and Melanie Dawson Jackson, a mom who home schools.

Kiplyn Primus is joined by United Way of Greater Atlanta President and CEO Milton Little, and Sonia Milner of Nicholas House, a transitional shelter for homeless families that will be receiving shoeboxes on Mother's Day as part of the WCLK-United Way Shoebox Campaign.

Listen to their conversation here, or tune in for community engagement on The Local Take Saturday morning at 7:30a before Tavis as Kiplyn digs deeper into the Shoebox Campaign, and how your decorative shoeboxes filled with toiletries and personal care items can make a difference on Mother's Day.
