Atlanta's Jazz Station 91.9 WCLK is the Official Radio Station of the Atlanta Jazz Festival. Drummer Lil John Roberts stopped by Morning Jazz this morning to talk about his upcoming performance at the Late Night Jazz Jam Concert taking place on Saturday, May 25 at 10pm at the Park Tavern at the Southeast corner of Piedmont Park as part of the    2019 Atlanta Jazz Festival. He'll be joined by The Senators in a tribute to Herbie Hancock. This is a separately-ticketed event to the Saturday and Sunday concerts in Piedmont Park, which are open to the public.

Come by the Jazz 91.9 WCLK Tent during the 83rd Annual Atlanta Dogwood Festival on Saturday and Sunday. Say hello to WCLK personalities and help us celebrate Springtime in Atlanta!

This year's festival features artist booths, live entertainment, the Mimosa 5k run, midway rides and evening VIP tent access. This week on The Local Take I spoke with Becky Raffalovich with Atlanta's Dogwood Festival about the Annual High School Art Exhibition. The 82nd Annual Dogwood Festival is taking place April 13 - 15 at Piedmont Park.  The festival will begin at 12noon on Friday, April 13 and run through  Sunday, April 15 at 6pm. WCLK will be broadcasting live from the festival on Saturday and Sunday April 14 and 15, so come by our tent and say hello.

This week on The Local Take I speak with Kevin James founder of the Atlanta Ice Cream Festival and Beverly Burks from the Fulton-DeKalb Hospital Authority

For the 7th year the Atlanta Ice Cream Festival will take place at Piedmont Park on Saturday, July 22 from 11am - 6pm. Kevin James explains why he decided to start the festival.  He also mentions that there will be lots of ice cream along with games, prizes and lots of family fun.

Check out images of Grammy winning singer-songwriter, actress and record producer MACY GRAY from Saturday night’s Atlanta Jazz Festival. The raspy-voiced vocalist, whose rose to fame in the early 2000s, performed about a 90-minute set of her hits before a packed crowd of hundreds on the western lawn of historic Piedmont Park. The show was emceed by WCLK 91.9’s  “Morning Jazz” radio personality and author—Morris Baxter.
