This week on WCLK's The Local Take(Saturdays 8am), we're talking about Traveling While Black, an immersive exhibit at Georgia Tech Ferst Center for the Arts. The exhibition is in open spaces on either side of the lobby box office.

Saturday morning at eight on WCLK's The Local Take, I'll talk with Ambassador Andrew Young about his friend Georgia 5th District Congressional Representative the Honorable John Lewis.  To live in Atlanta is to walk in the footsteps of the giants who collectively pushed our country kicking and screaming towards the ideals that began this experiment in democracy.  You can regularly run into these living legends at the businesses on Cascade.

During the week leading up to the Martin Luther King Holiday, I spoke with Dr. Doris Derby, co-founder of the Free Southern Theater, photo-journalist, documentarian and founding Director of Georgia State University's Office of African American Student Services and Programs.  Dr. Derby speaks about her time in SNCC  during the Civil Rights Movement in Mississippi.
