The SOUL of Jazz on WCLK

Blue Note Recording Artist Kandace Springs' music has had a home on Atlanta's Jazz Station 91.9 WCLK from her very first recordings. She's been by the station a few times, and has family in Atlanta. We're all happy with her ongoing success. She is the final performer of the weekend on the Oak Hill Stage at the 42nd Atlanta Jazz Festival tonight at 7:30pm. As always, this event is open to the public. So come on down and dig one of the up and coming singer-songwriters contemporary Jazz has to offer. Kandace called up Jamal Ahmad to talk about her career, and her AJF performance.

Join me on Atlanta's Jazz Station 91.9 WCLK for the Saturday night edition of The S.O.U.L. Of Jazz and Sounds Of Universal Love from 6pm-9pm. 2018 has been an exceptional year in music, full of twists and turns that kept us wanting more. Per usual, I will run down all the exciting happenings in the worlds of soul, Jazz and otherworldly sounds. Music from places like Uruguay, England, Brazil, Japan and from our own backyard will be on display so you know it's going to be an eclectic mix.  Join me Saturday, December 29th from 6-9pm EST and buckle up for an exhilarating, musical ride.

Support for WCLK programming comes from Atlanta's High Museum of Art, presenting Friday Jazz on July 20 from 6pm until 10pm. This month features the sounds of The Joe Gransden Big Band. Friday Jazz At The High is hosted by WCLK's Jamal Ahmad. Ticket information is available at high.org. Seating for Friday Jazz is limited and opens at 6 p.m. There is no reserved seating. Standing room is plentiful. Friday Jazz is FREE with Museum admission and FREE for members.

Jazz 91.9 WCLK welcomes the support of the Mabra Law Firm, which now brings you daily traffic reports by Fonda Smith during Morning Jazz with Morris Baxter and the SOUL of Jazz with Jamal Ahmad.
