Voting

This week on The Local Take(Saturday 8am), we're continuing our conversation about business leaders who are coming together against voter suppression laws in our state and nation. Craig Robinson is an experienced chief executive, division president, and board director for global commercial real estate, outsourcing, and tech-enabled service companies. Robinson has led business units within both large global public companies and private mid-cap growth businesses.

This week on The Local Take, I reached out to Dr. William Boone from the Clark Atlanta University Political Science Department to talk about the results of the 2020 Election. For the first time since 1992, Georgia turned blue, delivering the state to President-Elect Joe Biden.

Election day, the last day to vote in this historic election is Tuesday, November 3, and we'll be able to look at the results instead of the polls. I asked Tharon Johnson, a Democratic Party political analyst from the Georgia Gang, to join us this morning on WCLK's The Local Take(Saturdays 8am) to talk about election day and election night results.

Saturday morning at eight on WCLK's The Local Take I speak with Julia Davis, a Spelman College and Southern California Film School graduate home during the Pandemic. Many of us had goals of cleaning closets, planting gardens, or making sourdough bread during the pandemic downtime, but Ms. Davis beat us all by starting a non-profit organization to provide rides to the polls during the early voting weeks.

Oprah Winfrey and OWN have joined together with the NAACP and national voting rights leaders to host “OWN Your Vote: Our Lives Depend On it,” a virtual conversation aimed to inspire and equip thousands of voters and community leaders with specific steps they can take to register to vote, request their absentee ballots, and mobilize voters throughout their community.
