Rick covers the music and influence of Mexican jazz pianist and bandleader Arturo O'Farrill. Sundays at WCLK are filled with jazz and blues, including The Savannah Music Festival Live at 6pm, Jazz Night In America with Christian McBride at 7pm, Piano Jazz with Marian McPartland at 8pm and Cafe Jazz with Gene Knight at 9pm.
Host Rick Mitchell is a longtime music journalist and radio programmer living in Houston, Texas. He is the author of the book Jazz In the New Millennium: Live and Well, published in 2014 in partnership with Da Camera of Houston. The program is produced at Houston's Lamar High School, with engineers Andre Cafcalas and Mark Garza.
