Coming up on this week’s edition of UPFRONT.

I’m talking to Hollywood film mogul, minister, and author DeVon Franklin about his new audible book It Takes a Woman. It puts a spotlight on the matriarchs who rallied around his family following the untimely death of his father. I caught up with him and his mother, Paulette and “The Aunties” to chat about the project and more.

Tony Award-winning Broadway director and CAU alumnus Kenny Leon is back to talk about his new Alliance Theatre production, Trading Places. The show opens this weekend and is a re-imagined version of the popular 80s comedy starring Dan Aykroyd and Eddie Murphy.

And closing out the show is singer-songwriter Chae Stephen. He’s back to dish about his performance TONIGHT for the Atlanta Jazz Festival. He’s teaming up with Lil John Roberts for a musical tribute to Motown legend Marvin Gaye.

I will also be playing music from Atlanta Jazz Festival performers Kathleen Bertrand, Julie Dexter, and Rhonda Thomas, all throughout the show.
