We’re catching up with Leatrice Ellzy, Sr. Director of Programming for the world famous Apollo Theater. She’s back to talk about curating the musical celebration “The Blues and Its People.” The event is kicking off this year’s Atlanta Jazz Festival and features new music from jazz trumpeter and composer Russell Gunn and many others.

And in the second half of the show, we’re headed to Broadway to chat with Tony Award-winning actress Amber Iman. She will be returning to the Atlanta stage as part of “The Blues and Its People” event. She’ll also talk about co-founding Broadway Advocacy Coalition (BAC)and much more.

We’ll also be playing music from Russell Gunn, Amber Iman and Ledisi all throughout the show.

UPFRONT/Inside the Entertainment Industry is produced and hosted by Ray Cornelius for Jazz 91.9 WCLK. The show re-airs on SiriusXM HBCU Channel 142 on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays at 6:30pm EST. It is also presented by the High Museum of Art.
