Jazz Tones Insights-Eric Alexander

I interviewed Eric Alexander in advance of his weekend appearances at the Velvet Note. The saxophonist discussed his recent High Note release,  Song of No Regrets. There are few artists on stage who combine chops, imagination and technique with a fluidity of ideas as he does--High Note. Eric reveals that he was trained classically on clarinet, piano, alto sax before choosing tenor sax. He is a graduate of  William Patterson University in New Jersey.  A composer and producer, Eric has released albums since 1992. His latest release features Jon Faddis trumpet, David Hazeltine piano, John Webber bass,  Joe Farnsworth drums. Eric will be appearing at the Velvet Note on  March 30-31.
