This week on The Local Take I speak with Paul Johnson, a junior at Morehouse College and recipient of a UNCF General scholarship.
He shares that the scholarship not only helped him, but also helped his family. He spoke about taking out a personal loan for his freshman year and not being sure he'd be able to complete his education.
After speaking with a few classmates, he connected with the local UNCF Office in his home town of Philadelphia and was granted a UNCF General scholarship.
Mr. Johnson is studying Kinesiology and plans to graduate in 2020.
He shares that the people who attend the Mayor's Masked Ball are responsible for his scholarship and the scholarships for so many students in need.
