Latin Jazz has informed our culture at least since Dizzie Gillespie's Afro-Cuban musical excursions of the late 1940s. Contemporary Latin Jazz is vibrant and ever present in the larger culture and on Jazz 91.9 WCLK, especially on Jazz Tones with Jay Edwards. You can hear cuts from Bill O'Connell and the Latin Jazz All-Stars new release on Savant, called Heart Beat at various times during the broadcast day, including during Serenade To The City, Monday through Friday from 10:00 p.m. until 2:00 a.m.
