Alliance Theatre presents "DREAM HOU$E" beginning January 28-February 13

Live performances continue at the Alliance Theatre this month with the award-winning-production DREAM HOU$E by Eliana Pipes.

DREAM HOU$E follows two Latina sisters on an HGTV-style reality show who are selling their family home, hoping to capitalize on the gentrification in their “changing neighborhood.”

As they perform for the camera, one sister grapples with turmoil in the family’s ancestral past while the other learns how much she’s willing to sacrifice for the family’s future. What is the cultural cost of progress in America — and is cashing in always selling out?

DREAM HOU$E is the winner of the 2021/22 Alliance/Kendeda National Graduate Playwriting Competition.

In addition to the show, Alliance Theatre patrons will also be able to view "HOME: Stories from Buford Highway" Lobby Exhibit. According to the website, HOME is drawn from the story collection work of We Love Buford Highway, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to preserve the multicultural identity of Atlanta’s Buford Highway. NOTE: The Alliance will require all audience members ages 12 and older to show upon arrival proof of vaccination against COVID-19 or a negative COVID-19 test for entry. In accordance with this policy, all guests must show valid ID. For guests under 16, an ID provided for the accompanying adult will be accepted. Guests under the age of 12 are not required to show proof of vaccination or a test result. All guests will be required to wear face masks at all times while in the theater.
