Join Atlanta History Center for Jubilee on the Lawn this Sunday, June 19 from 9 am to 5 pm for family-friendly activities commemorating the Juneteenth Holiday.
Atlanta History Center is thrilled to bring back their in-person Juneteenth celebration after two years of virtual events due to the pandemic. This year’s dynamic program will feature a series of curated experiences leading visitors across campus to explore the history of Juneteenth itself and Black innovation, life, and excellence since emancipation in Atlanta. They'll also be highlighting Black history and future in Atlanta, including politics and business in the decades since the Civil War, foodways, music, art, and more!
All of this learning will culminate in celebration, with a party on Swan Lawn complete with music, games, food, and drinks starting at noon.
The Atlanta History Center hopes to encourage intergenerational dialogue and conversations across differences to better understand our Atlanta community so we can decide the future together.
This year's event is part of Atlanta History Center’s celebration of the Civic Season, a nationwide initiative encouraging historically-informed civic participation through a two-week activation between Juneteenth and July 4th.
