Rialto Center for the Arts presents An Evening with Jane Monheit

Rialto Center for the Arts

Georgia State's Rialto Center for the Arts continues its new season with jazz vocalist JANE MONHEIT. She takes the stage this evening at 8pm.

A vocalist with remarkable virtuosity and innate interpretative skills, Jane Monheit puts her unique touch on beloved jazz standards, classic torch songs and contemporary pop.

The Long Island native was born into a musical household and was drawn to jazz and Broadway musicals at an early age. Monheit began her professional career while still in high school and studied at the Manhattan School of Music under vocalist and composer Peter Eldridge in 1998.

The two-time Grammy nominee and runner-up for the prestigious Thelonious Monk Vocal Competition, Monheit is touring in support of her most recent release of The Great American Songbook of popular and jazz standards, “Come What May” (2021), which was her first in five years, celebrating over 20 years as a recording artist.
