Join us Monday, January 16 as Jazz 91.9 WCLK airs Fox 5 Atlanta's live broadcast of the 55th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemorative Service from Ebenezer's Horizon Sanctuary at 10 a.m. EST.
Bryan Stevenson, founder and executive director of the the Equal Justice Initiative (EJI)will serve as this year's Keynote Speaker along with appearances from U.S. Senator and Senior Pastor of Ebenezer Baptist Church, Rev. Dr. Raphael G. Warnock and Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens.
Other speakers giving tributes to Dr. King include Leo Smith, CEO of Engage Futures Group, LLC; Rick West, Founding Director and Director Emeritus, National Museum of the American Indian, Smithsonian Institution; Renee Montgomery, Co-Owner and VP of the Atlanta Dream; Pastor Dennis Rouse, Author and Founding Pastor of Victory Church; and Veronica Maldonado-Torres, President and CEO of the Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
The event will also features some soul-stirring musical performances from Yolanda Adams, Kierra Sheard, Justin Schultz, Min. Angella Christie, Ashling Cole, Dr. Uzee Brown and Bishop William Murphy.
As always, Rev. Dr. Bernice A. King will give the Call to Commemoration and Reverend Natosha Reid Rice and Pastor Sam Collier will preside over the event.
Ebenezer Horizon Sanctuary is located at 101 Auburn Avenue, Atlanta. Doors will open for the service at 8 a.m.
