Join Jazz 91.9 WCLK and the High Museum of Art this Friday, July 21 from 6pm until 10pm for Friday Jazz at the High. This month's featured artist is pianist and vocalist Joe Alterman.
In addition to the music, Friday Jazz at the High patrons will get to enjoy Bruce Onobrakpeya: The Mask and the Cross, Evelyn Hofer: Eyes on the City and Ancient Nubia: Art of the 25th Dynasty exhibitions.
Atlanta native Joe Alterman is a jazz pianist known for expressing a certain upbeat naivete in his music, “rooted in the blues.” He has performed at many world renowned venues, including the Kennedy Center, Lincoln Center, Birdland, and the Blue Note, alongside Houston Person, Les McCann, Dick Gregory, Ramsey Lewis, and his own trio, among others. His music and collaborations, including his most recent album, The Upside of Down (2021), are available on Spotify.
