Warner Bros. Pictures has released a new featurette on the highly anticipated movie, The Color Purple. This bold new take on the beloved classic is directed by Blitz Bazawule (“Black Is King,” “The Burial of Kojo”) and produced by Oprah Winfrey, Steven Spielberg, Scott Sanders and Quincy Jones.
The Color Purple stars Taraji P. Henson, Danielle Brooks, Colman Domingo, Corey Hawkins, H.E.R., Halle Bailey, Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, Ciara, Jon Batiste and Fantasia Barrino, in her major motion picture debut.
The Color Purple is based on the iconic novel by Alice Walker and is a film version of the dramatic musical, which debuted at Atlanta's Alliance Theatre in 2004. This is not a remake of the original 1985 motion picture starring Whoopi Goldberg.
