Join WCLK on Friday, July 19 from 6pm until 10pm for Friday Jazz at the High. This month's featured musical guest is Trap Jazz and is hosted by WCLK's Rick Joyner.
In addition to the music, Friday Jazz patrons will get to enjoy the following exhibitions Truth Told Slant: Contemporary Photography, Tyler Mitchell Idyllic Space and Patterns in Abstraction: Black Quilts from the High's Collection.
Hailing from Atlanta, Trap Jazz is a groundbreaking musical ensemble that seamlessly merges trap music’s raw energy with jazz’s improvisational spirit. Founded by Chris Moten, an acclaimed arranger and musical director, the band’s unique sound has garnered widespread attention, culminating in the Hulu documentary Trap Jazz, which details the group’s formation and musical journey. Since their debut in 2016, Trap Jazz has shared the stage with renowned artists such as Terrace Martin, Christian Scott, Jacob Collier, and even the legendary Quincy Jones.
