Join WCLK on Friday, January 17, 2025 from 6pm until 10pm for Friday Jazz at the High. The featured musical guest is singer-songwriter-actress, Brenda Nicole Moorer and is hosted by WCLK's Rick Joyner.
In addition to the music, Friday Jazz patrons will get to enjoy the following exhibitions GIANTS: Art from the Dean Collection of Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys and Georgia O'Keefe: "My New Yorks."
Brenda Nicole Moorer is a singer, songwriter, and actress from Atlanta. She has written and released three studio albums, including MARROW (2020), produced by Troy Miller on Ropeadope Records, and is working on her fourth. Brenda has played the Atlanta Jazz Festival four times and headlined the main stage in 2023 alongside Christian Scott and Ledisi. She has won the South Art’s Jazz Roads Grant and the New Music USA emerging artist award, and her work has garnered attention from Gilles Peterson, NPR, and the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, As an actor, she trained at Caymichael Patten Studio in New York and played Brenda Franklin in the Aretha Franklin biopic RESPECT (2021), which was nominated for NAACP Best Motion Picture; she sang live in the movie alongside Jennifer Hudson. She’s also a nonprofit arts advocate and sits on the board of the Atlanta Music Project.
