Dashill Smith is a dynamic Atlanta-based trumpeter, composer, vocalist, and multi-instrumentalist whose genre-fluid artistry bridges jazz, funk, soul, hip-hop, Afro-beat, experimental, and fusion traditions. Renowned for his adventurous improvisation, magnetic stage presence, and eclectic musical vision, Smith has become a standout figure in Atlanta’s vibrant contemporary music scene.
A native of College Park, Georgia, Smith grew up immersed in an array of musical influences—from jazz and soul to early hip-hop and funk—and began playing trumpet in middle school as a way to build his breath and musicianship.
Smith’s career includes extensive collaborations with acclaimed artists such as Roy Ayers, Hugh Masekela, George Clinton, The Brand New Heavies, Roy Hargrove, Common, Queen Latifah, and many others, showcasing his versatility and respect across musical communities.
