Join WCLK on Friday, February 20 from 6pm until 10pm for Friday Jazz at the High. This month's featured musical guest is Lori Williams and is hosted by WCLK's Jamal Ahmad.
In addition to the music, Friday Jazz patrons will get to enjoy the following exhibitions The Lost World: The Art of Minnie Evans and The Family Album of Ralph Eugene Meatyard.
Lori Williams is an acclaimed international jazz vocalist known for her smooth, soulful voice and dynamic performances across the globe. With over 30 years of experience as a performing artist, educator, songwriter, producer, and radio host, she has built a distinguished career blending jazz, soul, and R&B. Williams has toured internationally, performing at major venues and festivals throughout Europe, Japan, the Caribbean, Mexico, and the United States, and she’s collaborated with many notable musicians. A veteran music educator and vocal coach, she has received numerous honors for her contributions to the arts, including the 2023 Excellence in Arts and Entertainment Award from The Atlanta Chapter of the National Hampton Alumni Association, and letters of recognition from President Joe Biden, who described her as having “the voice of an angel…absolutely amazing.” She has released multiple independent recordings and continues to inspire audiences with her artistry and mentorship.
