Jazz 91.9 WCLK and The Local Take with Kiplyn Primus invite you to celebrate the program's 15th anniversary with the launch of Thrift & Thrive—a new community engagement series that brings together wellness, education, and affordable shopping.
The inaugural Thrift & Thrive event takes place Saturday, July 18, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at 2WThrift, hosted in partnership with the Empowerment Resource Center (ERC). Designed to promote healthy living and community connection, the event offers a welcoming space where attendees can shop, learn, and take charge of their health.
Guests will enjoy:
- Free HIV testing
- Free blood pressure screenings
- King of Pops
- Community health resources and educational information
As part of the ongoing Thrift & Thrive series, attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in the "Saturday Question of the Weekend," an interactive conversation about sexual health and overall wellness. Community members are encouraged to ask questions, share concerns, and engage in open dialogue designed to dispel myths, promote accurate health information, and encourage healthier lifestyles. Select responses will be featured on future broadcasts of The Local Take to continue the conversation and promote upcoming events.
In addition, Thrift & Thrive is working alongside other community partners with a goal to engage an intergenerational audience ranging from young adults to seniors.
Join us as we celebrate 15 years of The Local Take by investing in healthier communities—one Saturday at a time.
