October 2: TV One's 'Triumph Awards' Airs

The 2016 "Triumph Awards" will air Sunday, October 2 at 7:00 p.m. EST on TV One. The awards ceremony is presented each year by the Reverend Al Sharpton‘s National Action Network (NAN).  The 'Triumph Awards' recognizes distinguished individuals and corporations in civil rights, the arts, entertainment, education, business and sports.

Honoree Spike Lee

 

This year’s honorees include hip hop superstar and music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs; legendary film director Spike Lee; music mogul Jermaine Dupri; Attorney Benjamin Crump; FedEx executive Gina Adams and Tim Murphy of Mastercard. “Survivor’s Remorse” actress and beloved TV and film star Tichina Arnold serves as this year's host.
