NBAF Presents 'Step Afrika!' on 10/8

NBAF.org
Step Afrika! The Migration

In partnership with the Rialto Center for the Arts, NBAF has invited Step Afrika! back to Atlanta for a second year as part of the celebration of the 100th birthday of the renowned African American artist Jacob Lawrence and the reunification of his seminal 60-panel work, The Migration of the Negro.

Through the medium of African-American stepping, South African Gumboot and traditional Western African dance, vocals, drumming, and audience participation, Step Afrika! brings to the stage its critically-acclaimed production, The Migration: Reflections on Jacob Lawrence. The high-energy performance brings to life Lawrence’s iconic paintings, which focuses on the Great Migration from the South to the North in the 1920s that radically changed the lives of African Americans.

Step Afrika! TONIGHT at 7:30 p.m at GA State's Rialto Center for the Arts.
