Dr. Iyanla Vanzant

Dr. Iyanla Vanzant is bringing her Get Over It Tour to Atlanta's fabulous Fox Theatre tonight and UPFRONT caught up with the spiritual leader and life coach to chat about that and much more.

The tour is part of a promotional push for her new book, Get Over It Thought Therapy for Healing the Hard Stuffand is being billed as an "up-close and in-person experience" between Dr. Vanzant and her adoring fans. Through her book, she plans to introduce spiritual principles along with a dose of love, humor and her signature straight-talk that audiences have grown to appreciate on her award-winning series, Iyanla: Fix My Life. The tour is her first in almost two decades.

"I wanted to bridge the gap between people watching me on the screen and people experiencing me," said Dr. Vanzant during our phone interview. "I've written 18 books and people are still in the same place."
