July 11 is officially “Niecy Nash Day” in Los Angeles. The CLAWS actress received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame this week with much fanfare. She was joined by POSE creator Ryan Murphy and comedic icon Cedric the Entertainer, who both said some kind words about their friend. Also present were her CLAWS cast mates Harold Perrineau, Jenn Lyon and Judy Reyes.

Other stars in attendance was Sherri Shepherd, Kelly Rowland, Blair Underwood, Kym Whitley, Aisha Hinds and George Lopez. However, it was the appearance of veteran actor Ed Asner that brought Nash to tears. She had met him at the tender age of nine and declared that she too would one day become an actor and have her name on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Well, that dream became a reality this week and he was there to congratulate her.
