UPFRONT talks to Robin Givens, Brian J. White and more about 'AMBITIONS'

AMBITIONS

I had the distinct pleasure recently of attending the sexy and sultry red carpet premiere of OWN’s new dramatic series AMBITIONS. The highly anticipated Will Packer Production airs Tuesday nights at 10 p.m. following The Haves and the Have Nots.

Created by executive producer/writer Jamey Giddens, Ambitions explores the sexy, deceitful machinations of love, power and politics in America’s hottest urban mecca, Atlanta, Georgia. The series centers around the intense rivalry between formidable legal eagles Stephanie Lancaster (Robin Givens) and Amara Hughes (Essence Atkins), former best friends from college who find themselves adversaries in both their personal and professional lives. The show also stars Brian J. White (Scandal), Kendrick Cross (Acrimony), Brely Evans (Being Mary Jane), Erica Page (Ozark) and Donna Biscoe (Saints & Sinners).

The advanced screening of the series was held at the swanky Gathering Spot and was attended by all of the cast, crew and producers. A good number OWN stars were also present including Joel Rush (If Loving You Is Wrong), Merle Dandridge (Greenleaf) and DJ Stormy (Ready to Love). Other notables included actor Morocco Omari (P-Valley), former Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed, actress Terri J. Vaughn, gospel singer Micah Stampley and RHOA starlet Marlo Hampton.
